An Effort to increase voter turnout

Created by B.R. on August 05, 2016

Our voter turnout is absolutely horrible in this country and that is something that I truly do not understand... Here are the numbers:

We should be hitting 80% most of the time. It is not a functioning democracy when half or less decides for the rest of the country.

It is time to have Presidential Election day to be a National Holiday and have the day off in an effort to push people to go vote. A lot of people work too hard, too many long hours and have 0 chance to go vote. Early voting is a good way to tackle this problem, but sometimes those hours aren't friendly to people who work as well.

The BEST thing is to have the day off and go vote. It is our civic duty to go vote, then make it equally important as all of other national holidays.
