Thomas Jefferson wrote that their should be a "wall of separation of church and state", and the First Amendment states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". America is supposed to be a land where every religion is equal, yet making Christmas a federal holiday shows a preference to the christian sects. Either every religions major holiday should be recognized or none of them should.
