As part of the DTV transition, the FCC is in the process of overseeing a change in the technology used to deliver over-the-air broadcast television to homes. DTV technology has proven to be less reliable than the previous analog technology. Using the prior technology, a less-than-perfect signal resulted in diminished picture and sound quality. Digital TV technology is an all-or-nothing system. Weaker signal is just as good as no signal at all. In short, we want television back!
Therefore, we ask the United States Government to do one of two things:
1) Promulgate rules to reverse the digital transition and upgrade to analog technology; or
2) Subsidize cable or DBS television so that every home in America has access to reliable, basic television service at no monthly fee.
