President Obama has until February 22nd to appoint a Supreme Court Justice by Recess Appointment, and we need to give him the encouragement to do it!
Getting a new SCOTUS in this way will avoid a year of the worst kind of partisan politics, wasting time and resources.
This is his constitutional duty - to get a SCOTUS into the court so that we don't waste a year deferring decisions to lower courts, which is what happens when the SCOTUS's decisions are 4-4. It is a misconception that a 4-4 split does nothing, because that kind of inaction is a very conscious decision to choose the lower court's ruling, which can often be disastrous.
