Elected officials paid minimum wage till national debt below 1 trillion.

Created by D.C. on February 06, 2014

Like many Americans I currently pay a mortgage. Every month I pay extra principle to pay off my loan earlier. America should be no different. I understand some debt is good but by permanently capping it at 1 trillion dollars maximum, we could stop using tax payer money to pay off excessive interest cost. The only way I feel that we can get to that point as a nation is to pay the elected people making the decisions exactly what the lowest paid federal employee makes which is minimum wage. Elected officials are elected for public service. I would like to know that my taxes are serving the public by actually building a road, feeding a family, putting a kid through college, rather than paying a 3% interest on someones treasury bill.
