Our country has Federal holidays that most of us look forward to, enjoy, and appreciate. We understand and accept the importance of Christmas, Veteran's Day, or Memorial Day. Yet, many citizens of the USA are required to work or simply can't afford that hour off the job.
If you care about class inequality in the US, please sign this petition. Voting is a right and not a privilege. In light of recent state restrictions of voting rights, nothing is more important than creation of a Federal holiday that will make the vote a true representation of the people.
Every other year, we should be able celebrate true patriotism. A national holiday will help more of us become a part of the political process, strongly strengthen voter turnout, and enrich true representative democracy.
