Election Reform - Popular Vote

I would like to prepose that we the people begin to elect our presidents with the results of the popular vote while eliminating the electoral college. I further prepose this is enacted into law prior to the 2016 Presidential election. All we have to do is tally/count all casted votes and whoever receives the highest percentage....wins. It's that simple. Recent gerrymandering of the electoral map via redistricting is merely a "tax loophole" for the lawmakers and lobbyists to ensure “their” votes elect our presidents. Our democracy depends on its “people” electing their presidents as opposed to elected officials, special interest and money. It's the most transparent way to articulate who the “people” choose as their president.
