The Electoral College Should Vote with the Will of the People

Created by A.A. on November 10, 2016

Hillary Clinton won the majority of the votes cast in the US general election. However, Donald Trump has (unofficially) been declared the winner on an ancient technicality: he has more electoral college votes than Hillary Clinton. It is highly elitist and ridiculous that this system stands in place. Why should the vote of a Florida native count more than anyone else's? I urge the electoral college to vote with the popular vote or risk delegitimizing American democracy. As of writing this, Hillary has 228 Electoral College votes which means she needs 42 more to get to 270.
