We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Electoral reform in the United States must include a nationwide switch to instant runoff voting.

Created by A.W. on June 08, 2016

As things stand, the wonderfully diverse opinions of over 300 million Americans are supposedly represented politically and philosophically by two parties, as if it were as easy as being right or left-handed. Over time our two party system has become more polarized as an inevitable outcome of an outdated method of voting. Now more than ever, the average American feels less represented by their representatives. Instant runoff voting is a system where voters can rank candidates in order of their choice instead of simply selecting one. A nationwide switch to instant runoff voting would allow independent and moderate voters to cast ballots knowing with confidence their voice will be heard. Introducing third parties to congress would lead to coalitions, breaking tiresome gridlock. Thank you.
