The U.S. almost all 50 states could no have power from 6 months and up to a year which could have dire effects on everyone. A EMP dropped over Kansas could take out all electronics even some of our military could go offline for good. We would be defenseless and people would find it extremely hard to live without any power, no cars, no refrigeration for food, how could people live? 315 million people would struggle to live it would be worse than all those people affected by hurricane Sandy when all those people were left without power because it would effect the entire nation. The U.S. has the technology to protect itself from the effects of a deliberate attack or space weather. It is a no-brainer that the government should pursue these options and “provide for the common defense."
