The meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant occurred over a year ago on 11 March 2011. Since then, the plant has continued its release of radiation at similar rates, with prevailing winds blowing eastward toward Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest. Additionally, spent fuel rods on site could potentially release untold amounts of radiation in a second catastrophe if not properly addressed.
The radiative contamination affects Japan, but it also affects the US. Please readdress this issue and ensure that the plant is properly dealt with. The health of our two great nations depends on it.
