eliminate the 2 term ban on the presidency but keep the election every 4 years

it makes no sense to not allow a person to continue doing there job if they are succeeding. If the 2 time president is still the best man for the job and is still the one the country wants to lead it why not allow if to keep going if he is successful. There would still be an election every 4 years and the idea of checks and balances would remain in place to avoid any version of a dictaorship. If the president is doing a good job with the country, improving it as a whole, and is willing to continue his presidency theres no reason not to let him keep going.
What happens when the 2 time president is still the best man for the job after his second term? We openly say ok well take the 2nd best person we can find. If the 2 time president is the best man for the job he should be the man doing it
