Real Property is the single greatest example of legislative theft where our government changes the value of the property we own in order to raise taxes without our permission.
If people are forced to pay taxes on property by virtue of ownership, those taxes should be based purely upon the value one pays for it.
In order for the government to use adjusted basis, the government is violating our constitutional rights by imposing taxation based upon other's buying decisions, which is fundamentally wrong. Imagine if you will being forced to pay income tax based upon other's higher incomes. Or imagine being forced to pay taxes on the MSRP of a product that you purchase at a discounted price.
This is legislative theft and the citizens of the United States of America need to stand up to it.
