eliminate that all 18 year old males must complete the Registration Status Form for the Selective Service System.

Created by J.W. on March 26, 2012

Every male, 18 and over, is "required to register with Selective Service." Every 18 year old is sent a letter and register form in the mail and has 10 days to complete it. If one fails to register it is a Federal crime punishable by a fine and imprisonment. Men who do not register could be unable to obtain U.S. citizenship and not be eligible for certain Federal benefits. The letter from the government states, “Our objective is to register you, not to have you prosecuted.” If the government was not trying to prosecute us, they would not send out these letters and forms with crucial deadlines and consequences. If they are sending letters to every 18 year old, they clearly know who is 18 and who is not. The government is wasting time and money to check on information they already know.
