At a time when American workers are still recovering from the worst recession of our lifetimes, the last thing we need is a government subsidy that helps companies fire American workers and replace them with cheap foreign labor. That is exactly what the H-1B visa program does. The H-1B visa program currently provides a "lottery" of 65,000 work visas a year that companies can use to hire foreign workers to fill jobs there are SUPPOSEDLY no American workers to fill. The reality is that the H-1B visa program is nothing but a subsidy provided by the federal government to companies who want to hire cheap foreign workers instead of American citizens. Pending legislation in Congress seeks to actually increase the H-1B cap from 65K to 300K visas per year, destroying more American jobs.
