There is much room for the simplification of the language, without completely overhauling the language that most Americans have grown up with. These simplifications, such as a simple replacing of the -ph- in favor of -f- can be the first in several simplifying spelling reforms. These possible simplifications have the potential to better assist Americans by making the script easier to read and comprehend, and thus can serve as a combatant against functional illiteracy, which is a clear plague to any nation.
