Eliminate the biannual time change from Standard Time to Daylight Savings Time

Created by E.T. on October 28, 2013

Because it is a disruption to our schedules, our sleep, and, as a result, our well-being, we request that the nation's annual time changes in spring and fall be eliminated and that we return to a single time maintained throughout the entire year.

Every year, twice a year, the American public changes its clocks one hour, in accordance with what is currently known as the Energy Policy Act of 2005. The dates on which we make these changes have themselves changed several times over the past 50 years since the Uniform Time Act was standardized in 1966. But we are requesting that the biannual changes to the clock be done away with altogether.

If there is an actual energy savings to DST, then maintain that time. If not, then revert to Standard time. But consistency is preferable.
