We formally request that Congress enact a law requiring all police departments to give lie detector tests to determine if individuals are biased toward any age, race, gender, sexual orientation, and/or economic standing. We request that the tests be given to all new recruits and all candidates being considered for promotion. If individuals are determined to be biased, they should not be hired or promoted. In addition, we ask that all testing be performed by an independent third party to ensure the integrity of all results.
