Eliminate breed discriminatory laws and breed specific legislation

Created by M.S. on January 30, 2014

No government agency including city or state should have the right to ban entire breeds of dogs solely based on their breed identification or characteristics. These discriminatory policies are unjust and predatory in nature. Animal laws and regulations should be based on the nature and behavior of the animal and should be unrelated to any breed. Policies that completely ban a whole breed or category of dogs are discriminatory and uncivil and take away the civil liberties of individuals to choose their pet and where they wish to live. These laws are forcing good citizens out of neighborhoods and cities simply due to the physical characteristics of the dog they own. Animals are being confiscated and euthanized when new housing cannot be found.
