We the people support a petition regarding eliminating the cap on taxable earnings for FICA. FICA includes a 6.2% income tax for Social Security and a 1.45% income tax for Medicare. Right now, people only pay FICA taxes on the first $118,500 of their taxable earnings. If the cap was eliminated, there would be much more money flowing into the Social Security and Medicare funds.
