I propose that Columbus Day be eliminated. Columbus was a horrid man who took a wrong turn while trying to find the Indias and landed in South America. While there he enslaved the people and made them pay tribute. I have never seen why we have a special day for him and I do not feel that America should have a holiday for this man. If we continue to celebrate Columbus Day we might as well celebrate every tyrant in history.
