Eliminate Columbus Day. Replace with Native Americans Day. Celebrate on Monday following Superbowl Sunday.

Created by E.Z. on October 13, 2014

How strange that the United States would honor a Spanish sailor who "discovered" a place (America) where people (Native Americans) were already living. It is time that we the people set the record straight and eliminate Columbus Day -- he discovered nothing and history indicates that he was more than a little oppressive toward the indigenous populations that he encountered. It is hard to imagine a more insulting holiday for a group of true Americans.
Naturally, the Monday following Superbowl Sunday is the perfect time to celebrate Native Americans Day. It is a festive occasion, uniquely American, and a great way to give prominence and stature to a group that deserves it. For sure, the NFL will even make a big deal out of NAD thus giving even more prestige to Native Americans.
