Before our state of TN implemented common core, my firstborn thrived. He retained what he learned. Now, it's a mad rush in every class to get up to tests/quizzes so info is rushed, not taught, by his teachers. Now he is failing the subjects he once loved. My 1st grader (and my 8th grader) come home with homework I can't even understand myself!!
i.e, what is 345-212? Write out a detailed sentence about how you arrived at that conclusion. And then, illustrate.
WHAT??!!!! He's in 2nd grade, & I know the argument may be pushing for critical thinking, but both my boys have common core curriculums that are at least 2 grades ahead.
My little one is nervous all the time, & my once vivacious teen is now depressed. I know I'm NOT ALONE in this! Get a Federal AND State ban!! My kids are capable!
