Eliminate the concept of lobbyists, preventing all corporations and trade groups unjustly influencing Congress.

Created by A.S. on January 24, 2012

Lobbying has caused the concept of lawmaking based solely on corporate petition, rather than individual petition. Trade groups and other organizations fight against this in many ways, but non-profits cannot match a company in funding. The rise in technological ability to petition the government directly enables us to abolish this policy to create a more directly democratic process. Corporations would still be able to contribute to government process through advocacy: indirectly influencing the government through polls, friend of the court briefs, public discussion, and more, but would be unable to directly interact with politicians except for through the same mechanisms a normal citizen can access.
