Eliminate conflict of interest regulators

Created by D.C. on September 23, 2011

Most government regulatory offices are managed and influenced by the very industry that they are supposed to be regulating. Look at the banking disaster for example - top officials who were supposed to be protecting us were/are board members of investment banks and brokerage houses and made fortunes off of unethical and irrisponsible actions and non-actions within their role of regulators. Make is unlawful for regulatory personell or department/office heads to be associated currently or in the recent past with the industry they are to be regulating. Make it a crime of unethical behavior and moral turpitude to regulate a industry while being a board member, employee, representative, or associate of that industry being regulated
