eliminate the current method of CPI calculation, reverting inflation calculations to the pre-1980 CPI measurement method

Created by S.S. on June 30, 2013

The current method of CPI calculation fails to measure the population's typical experience of inflation. This results in policy decisions that do not fully reflect the needs of the People, as well as creating anger and frustration that their challenges are not being acknowledged or addressed.

By reverting inflation calculations to the pre-1980 CPI measurement method, truth would be restored to America's inflation calculations. Policy decisions based on properly computed CPI data would be more relevant. The United States should formally restate inflation for the years 1990-present using the pre-1980 methodology as an acknowledgement that the needs of the People have been underestimated for decades.
