Our request to eliminate Daylight Saving Time relates to the negative impact that DST has on people's health.
DST has been shown to cause fatigue, daytime sleepiness, and stress; a decrease in alertness, performance, concentration, and memory; and an increase in strokes and heart attacks. As shown in a recent publication, "Daylight Savings Time and Myocardial Infarction" accepted by BMJ in March 2014: "After adjustment for trend and seasonal effects, the Monday following spring time changes was associated with a 24% increase in daily AMI [acute myocardial infarction] counts (p=0.011), and the Tuesday following fall changes was conversely associated with a 21% reduction (p=0.044)."
