DayLight Savings, the twice a year change of time by hour forward or backward was a creation of the 1940s to preserve additional daylight in the evening, at the cost of taking it away in the morning. It was opposed by farmers even at the time as cows do not accept such changes. It may have had value in a very different society but today is fairly annoying. Everyone has to adjust twice a year to achieve little. There are far more electronics to set or reset than in the 1940s. It is wasteful. California is seeking to eliminate it in the State, but really it should be eliminated nationally.
