Whereas:
1. The United States has not been an agrarian economy for many decades, so there's no need for extra daylight hours to "help with the harvest";
2. The purported energy savings afforded by daylight savings time are a sham - everybody's inside, energy-efficient bulbs are everywhere, as are large screen TVs, computers, video games, tablets, home audio systems... all of which are in heavy use during those alleged energy saving hours;
3. The negative health and productivity effects experienced immediately after the change to daylight savings time are well documented: absences and lateness, accidents, errors, general brain fog, and even fatalities.
Now therefore, we (mean those of us with common sense), hereby petition our Federal government to ban daylight savings time forevermore.
