Eliminate the Department of Education. It can be replaced with an annual convention of 50 state education departments.

Created by R.A. on October 02, 2011

Improve efficiency in government, reduce the deficit, and spur on the economy.
States are better suited to run their own education because they are more familiar with the needs of the local schools.
Allowing the states to have a convention and have control over the national standards and such would be a more efficient federal system.
Billions of dollars will be saved by not filtering state tax money through the bloated federal bureaucracy.
Out of work Dept. of Ed. bureaucrats will not be a burden on the economy since even if they all had to go on welfare we would be paying them less than we were as bureaucrats. If even one ex-bureaucrat goes to work outside the government producing something or providing a service than the economy would be improved.
