Eliminate the Department of Transportation

Created by E.P. on November 14, 2012

Given the $16+ trillion debt and the continuing $1 Trillion in increased debt each year, it has become obvious that we cannot remedy the situation merely with political manipulation of the tax codes and painting the wealthy as evil. We must reduce the size and scope of the Federal Government. One step is to eliminate/reform the Department of Transportation and return the authority and responsibility of transportation to the states. During the years 2006 thru 2009 we have spent $250 billion just on the Federal Highway Administration who's job it is to ensure out infrastructure remains safe and intact. We need to elevate the Federal Aviation Administration to a cabinet level and then eliminate the remainder of the Department of Transportation as we still have bridges collapsing.
