Both the DHS and the TSA represent, and are gross violations of our rights and liberties (search and seizure, movement, privacy). They also are gross violations of the founding principles of this country of liberty and self ownership, and they do not work. We are not safer as a result of their actions, if anything, we are more fearful, which makes us easier to victimize.
