The electoral college is a system that inhibits the ability of the United States to function as a true democracy. When we have a system that uses a winner take all voting system at a state level, it fails to allow every American's voice to be heard. For example, if you live in a strongly liberal state, there is little to no use in even going to the polls of you are a conservative or vice versa. This fact is a blemish on the democratic ways that our country prides itself on. The fact that someone can become president despite losing the popular vote is sickening to any true democratic society. I call on Congress to eliminate the failing system that is the Electoral College.
