The Electoral College is a flawed system that makes the vote of a person worth less or more than the vote of a person in a neighboring state. As a result of this, a presidential candidate can be elected (and has been elected, 5 times now) while receiving less than the popular vote. Also, if 270 electoral votes are not achieved, the decision of who will become president falls to the US House of Representatives, meaning the American people will have been shut out of their own democratic process.
Our Electoral College solves no problem and serves no purpose at this point in our history. It is a cumbersome, embarrassing roadblock between the vote of the people and the choice of a president. Eliminate the Electoral College.
