Eliminate the Electoral College

Please get rid of The Electoral College and make the only deciding factor in the presidential vote the popular vote. The electoral college takes away from the first amendment rights by making votes more powerful in some states rather than others. This takes away from the peoples voice and the peoples vote. This also promotes political spending for a specific and smaller amount area in the U.S. and unnecessarily adds confusion to what should be a simple process. The founders originally added in the Electoral College as a compromise between the people and congress. However, the people shouldn’t have to give up their first amendment rights in order to compromise with congress. While the electoral college process hasn’t changed the course of many elections shouldn't the president be our choice
