The electoral college was begun in horse and buggy days and is no longer pertinent to the American people. The college is not mandated to vote their peoples wishes and nullifies a large portion of the vote in some states by ignoring the states true vote and only casting the college vote on the winner of the state election or on a worse case scenario having the college ignore the state vote and casting their vote for their own choice. More than once presidents were placed in office without the popular vote thus ignoring the will of the people.
