When the founding fathers decided on the Electoral College, and the party's decided to use delegates for presidential elections, communication in this country was slow and often ineffective. People could not be expected to make educated decisions about people and subjects they may have never heard of. Powerful people who had information made the decisions.
Today information is at our fingertips at all times day and night. Or education levels are higher and we have clarity into issues that is unprecedented. It is unbelievable that in our day and age the powerful people are still making the decisions and have the ability, and the right, to override the popular vote.
It is time to end this, the U.S. political system, and the parties holding this much power, are no longer sustainable.
