Eliminate the electoral college due to unconstitutionality and replace it with the popular vote.

Created by P.T. on January 18, 2013

This country was founded on the notion that all men are created equal. In order to ensure this, every citizen's vote should have an equal say in an election. This may seem trivial. However, in the current election system votes cast in states 1 and 2, respectively, are not weighted equally.

Suppose state 1 has a voter turnout of 'P1' and the number of electoral votes for that state is 'E1'. The Number of electoral votes that one individual voter casts is the quantity: 'E1/P1'.

This ratio 'E/P' is different for all states.

Therefore, With the current voting scheme of electoral college, the power of a vote varies from state to state. This contradicts the equality of citizens and, as a result, is unconstitutional. Deciding elections based on the popular vote is the most fair system.
