Eliminate the Electoral College: One vote per citizen to elect the President of the United States

To become president it requires 270 out of 538 electoral college votes. Each state starts off with 3 electoral college votes then receive more based on their population. This means my vote in California (55 electoral votes) has more pull than that of a citizen in Alaska (only 3). Also it should be noted that not all electoral votes are required to vote based on the popularity of their citizens. This means if the popular vote was for President Obama, but the Elector wanted to vote for President Candidate Romney, the Elector could do so. Furthermore, the Electors are not even selected by the citizens. We have no real say in who is elected as Commander in Chief, and this needs to change. "One person, one vote."
