the electoral college bypasses the fourteenth amendment that says "one person one vote" because the electoral candidates do not have to vote for the person they pledged for thereby disregarding the popular vote. the people should have who they want in office and not leave it to a handful of people who may or may not disregard their vote. the electoral college is obsolete and no longer needed because everyone 18 or older now has the right to vote
