Eliminate the ethanol subsidies and mandate. It's common sense that you don't burn up huge quantities of food for fuel.

Created by E.C. on August 11, 2013

The ethanol mandate must be eliminated.
Due to government corn subsidies, areas once used to produce livestock hay are now growing corn for ethanol, creating a hay shortage and increased grain/feed prices. These added costs are passed on to the consumer through increased meat, cereal and grocery prices,
Replacing10 percent of the gas in the U.S. with ethanol and biodiesel requires 43 percent of current U.S. cropland.
Corn and other 'energy' crops actually use significantly more water, They require heavy applications of nitrogen, and as a result, release nitrous oxide into the atmosphere — a greenhouse gas 296 times more damaging than CO2. They also produce nitrogen and phosphorus run off into lakes and streams.
It is time to save our tax $$ and end this costly 'non-green' mistake!
