Eliminate Gerrymandering

Created by T.G. on November 17, 2016

Per the Oxford dictionary, gerrymandering is defined as a form of redistricting in which electoral district or constituency boundaries are manipulated for electoral advantage. Elections have become less competitive partly due to the increased use and effectiveness of gerrymandering, which disenfranchises millions of citizens.

Our Founding Fathers rejected the notion of a government not accountable to its people. President Lincoln affirmed that Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth. Accordingly, it is resolved that every elected official make their declarations known about the practice of gerrymandering, and above all other issues, the signers of this petition will not elect any official who does not publicly renounce the practice.
