The government was never designated to be a place where political figures could amass a great deal of wealth. Many of the highly compensated positions are filled by those that are not in need of additional income. It is then proposed that public servants, with a net worth greater than 100 times the national median income, not be allowed to receive an income or pension. They would remain on the books however, in case they fall below the threshold, but would be subject to a tiered payout based on the level at which they fall below the threshold.
