Eliminate harassment from TELEMARKETERS to businesses. Investigate costs to businesses related to telemarketing calls.

Created by M.B. on December 12, 2012

Telemarketers make up the majority of many phone calls to a business each day. Each phone call must be answered by an employee who must then stop doing their job to respond to the telemarketer. Many telemarketing calls are borderline harassment. Man hours are spent by answering the call, declining the service or product, researching the caller in order to file a complaint and/or calling the company to request to be removed from a calling list. An indirect cost is the emotional tole some pay when a telemarketer uses foul language or harasses an employee. Some telemarketing calls are dead air. Other calls are fishing to see if anyone is at the business or home which may lead to a robbery. I ask our United States Government what it plans to do about this daily occurrence.
