Eliminate the inane and wasteful practice of designating days, weeks, or months to a specific cause. For example, there is currently a petition to designate "August 2012 as “National Fuel Efficiency Month.” What does this even mean and who could possibly care about such nonsense? With U.S. debt over $15 trillion, unemployment over 8%, and the housing market in shambles, surely this Administration and this Congress can find better things to do than designate August (or any other month) "National Fuel Efficiency Month."
