This petition asks the President to campaign the members of Congress to eliminate the income tax requirement for public school teachers, police officers and firefighters. This serves three goals:
1. Significantly raise the compensation for members of these critical professions without burdening the budget of their municipalities.
2. Attract higher caliber individuals to these better paying positions, improving quality and retention.
3. Achieve the above by only marginally reducing the revenue of the federal government.
