Eliminate Income Tax redundancies by closing the Internal Revenue Service.

Created by D.M. on July 14, 2013

Allow state franchise tax boards to be the sole collector of income tax. The individual state tax boards would then forward an apportioned amount based on their population to the Federal Government to fund the Federal Budget. The Fed in turn would no longer need to receive income tax only to send portions of it back to the states. This eliminates the middle man in redistribution of tax, eliminates costs in the federal budget associated with the IRS $13.1B in 2013. http://www.irs.gov/pub/newsroom/budget-in-brief-fy2013.pdf Although some of these costs would be borne by the states, since most already collect income tax via a state franchise tax board much of the overhead is already in place with some expansion of current staffing, creating local jobs in state.
