Eliminating the current tax system and instituting the FairTax will help reduce the deficit and increase revenues. Businesses will eliminate the heavy burden of tax compliance which will, in turn, reduce the cost of production. Citizens will not have to pay someone to help them pay the government. All purchases will produce revenue which means that even those who make money illegally will still pay taxes when they purchase an item. It will also reduce the temptations of Congress to give tax breaks for votes/money.
