Eliminate the influence corporate and special interest groups have on government spending through the open prize model.

Created by A.C. on January 15, 2013

To eliminate the waste and corruption which naturally results from the effort of 535 people to legislate and direct the economic activity of 317,000,000 of their peers, I submit that government contracting and spending be, by rule of law, awarded only by way of winning open prizes.

The clearest way to effectively and efficiently fund solutions to large scale dilemmas has been demonstrated time and again to be open source culture, crowd sourcing their results combined with incentives focusing on competition.

We already have two working models of this philosophy.

I refer to the X-prize and DARPA challenge models.

We cannot address the symptoms of our sick economics without updating it's fundamentals to modern methods.

The country rots under the weight of old socioeconomic thinking.
