Eliminate the Interests collected on the Federal Student Loans during 2000 - 2012.

Created by D.Z. on May 24, 2014

Federal Student Loans helped me pay through my college. I had planned to pay back this loan within a couple of years after graduation. However, My graduation coincided with recession during 2000 - 2012. I could only secure small jobs that paid for my bare minimum necessities, and meanwhile, had to frequently postpone repayments because of the constant economic hardship.

Interests piled up and my total loan amount doubled. I still have to continue paying till I am at my 70's - if all goes well!

So it seems unfair that the middle class has to bear the burden of paying the interests because of the negligence at higher levels.

Mr. President, my request is to pardon ONLY the interests that incurred during those 12 years recession, thus reducing the total debts on graduates.

Thanks
